Monster High

August 25, 2012

Hey,
Let me tell you about a freakishly fangtastic brand called Monster High. I know what your first thoughts are, probably this.... OMG IS SHE SERIOUSLY GOING ON ABOUT DOLLS! But let's take a step back because we have a case of awesomeness at our hands here. Let me tell you a bit about MH!

All about Monster High: From the Parent Bulletin @ Monster High
Monster High may look like any other high school from the outside, but lurk closer and you'll see rather non-traditional student bodies and faculty. It's a school where the teenage children of famous monsters attend classes and endure the trials and tribulations of high school life, all while trying to be good students and good friends.

The perfectly imperfect guys and ghouls of Monster High don't just feel like monsters from time to time-they really are. Rather than trying to fit it, they are encouraged by faculty members to "Be yourself, be unique, be a monster"

Created by Mattel in 2010, this original brand features dolls, books, games and webisodes.

Why I love Monster High!!!!!!!!
My friend Indy and I are Monster High Fanatics, together Monster High Buddies. Teehee. Although I must admit that her collection is larger than mine. Today at our sleepover we made the collage above and are thinking of creating a MH Mag!!!  I only have 2 dolls, C.A Cupid and Abbey Bominable. Though my sister has Roller Maze Frankie Stein, Rochelle Goyle and A Draculaura and Clawd Wolf 2 Pack.

Now whenever someone says "Monster", I don't think of the green gooey thing hiding under your bed with a knife. I think of the Clawsome student bodies at Monster High.

I like the dolls because they are super cool, although I don't play with them. Just wanted to get that straight. Though they do make barbie and bratz look bad.

I love the books!! They are so good with currently 4 in the series. And no they are not 5 page picture books. They are actually like young adult books so well written and an interesting read for any teenager.

The 4 in the series are written by author Lisi Harrison, though the 5th one is by a new author this time and looks less teen. I'm sure it will be fab too, but the 4 are so good. The storyline is a little different than the webisodes.

The story begins in book one.......

My fave student bodies- words from The Monster High Wiki

C.A. Cupid, full name Chariclo Arganthone Cupid, is the adoptive daughter of Eros, the god of love in Greek mythology. She first appeared as part of the Sweet 1600 doll line. C.A. Cupid debuted in the television special "Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love?", in which she is voiced by Erin Fitzgerald. C.A. follows in her adoptive father's footsteps as an arbiter of love and is specialised in the dealings of relationships, though primarily those of monsters with a focus on teenagers. She hosts a daily radio show from her station in the Monster High catacombs, during which she takes calls on relationship problems. This is her way of doing her job, since though she does have her bow and arrows ready 24/7, she is a lousy shot.

Lagoona Blue is the daughter of the sea monster. She has a pet piranha named Neptuna, and is a transfer student from "Down Under" (the sea), hence her Australian accent. Lagoona is as laid-back as she is friendly, and is friends with almost everyone at Monster High. She has a relationship with Gillington Webber.

Rochelle is from Scaris, France. occupied a roof near a great cathedral. For most of her life, her social atmosphere has been occupied solely by other gargoyles, which began to displease her as she reached adolescence. Unlike most other gargoyles she knows, who are content to minimize what they learn of the world in order to never feel like they are missing out, Rochelle wants to know all there is to know and chose Monster High as her stepping stone after several years of considering the pros and cons. Her parents, who are supportive of her, approve of her decision.
