The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter
US Cover
Goodreads & The Reader Bee:
Every girl who has taken the test has died. Now it's Kate's turn.

It's always been just Kate and her mom--and now her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll
keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess. If she fails...

My Review-
The Goddess Test was a completely obsessive read. I enjoyed every moment of it and it was interesting from the first page. I was hoping that the Greek Mythology wasn't too brain puzzling but I found it came at just the right temperature. It was incorporated with Modern times but had that essence of Mythology which made it different.

I really loved the us cover because it set the scene really well and the girl looks just how you'd imagine Kate would be. It went really well with the goddess theme, same with the "Goddess Interrupted" Cover. Though their are two versions of the cover, UK and Australian. Personally I like the UK cover better.

Australian Cover - Which one do you like better

I was intrigued by the storyline as it was so different and interesting. I found myself falling in love with some of the characters and the bond they shared with each other.

I adored Kate and thought she was a fabulous heroine and it was good to see a female character that had such strength and integrity. How she could make such sacrifices for everybody else, especially her mother. She was determined and at the same time down to earth.

Henry was captivating and in a way reminded me of "Twilight's" to die-for Edward Cullen. In a sense that he was so mysterious. He was kind and gentle and very protective over Kate. Not much what you would expect a god to be like. Although he was humble and brave as every god should be.

I love how it ended because it wasn't predictable but at the end made sense when all the pieces of the puzzle were put together. It had a perfect amount of romance and fantasy. I loved every bit of it.
My Rating: 5/5
Goddess Interrupted (The Goddess Test #2) by Aimee Carter Review

US Cover
Kate Winters has won immortality.

But if she wants a life in the Underworld with Henry, she’ll have to fight for it.

Becoming immortal wasn’t supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she’s as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he’s becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

Henry’s first wife, Persephone.     (Goodreads) (The Reader Bee)

My Review-
Goddess Interrupted the second in the "Goddess Test" series was fabulous. It was different to the first but still as captivating. After passing all the tests, Kate is finally a Goddess, married to the man of her dreams and about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld. It should be heaven on earth or should I say Heaven on Underworld. Lol. But it's not at all the paradise Kate expected.

Henry is more distant than ever. To make matters worse, the only person that can kill Kate and her new family, Cronus, has woken from a deep sleep. With an angry and evil Calliope at his side, the two are unstoppable. The chances of survival is low. The only way to help is with Persephone at their side. The love of Henry's life and Kate's sister.

I felt sadness with Kate as she felt alone and ignored by Henry, who she couldn't love more. I felt anger with Kate when Henry was being a Jerk and felt Happiness when their bond grew closer. I felt like I was going on that journey with Kate and Henry and I admired how she stayed strong when times got rough and never gave up hope.

I felt myself getting goosebumps because of how evil Calliope had turned. I wouldn't know what to do in a situation like that. I also liked how things eventually fell back into place.

I hated how it ended because It ended on a cliffhanger and the third one, Goddess Inheritance hasn't been released yet. But at the same time I loved how it ended because it solved problems and caused new ones, it was such an exciting ending. The wait for the third book is killing me.
My Rating- 5/5
