What's Up Buttercup?! (3)

April 2, 2014

For those who don't know what this features all about, it's what I've been calling a what's been happening of late sorta post. It's basically a recap/update post that can be posted during anytime I feel like. It's just an idea that i've come up with and decided to post on my blog. Enjoy!
Hi Guys! How are we all? Firstly I want to apologise for being a slightly fail blogger. I haven't been posting as much and I've sucked with deadlines for extra special blogging things. I'm on my second last week of the school term and I've totally been bombarded with assignments, essays (a new sort of adventure for me) and assessments. Honestly, do the teachers sit down and decide they want to ruin our lives by each giving us assignments at the same time?! Anyway I've been so busy at the library using the computers to do assignments that I haven't had the chance to use them to write posts. I've also not been able to write any reviews because well... I haven't been reading.

Reading slumps suck, majorly. I'm no stranger to these sudden bursts of zero reading enthusiasm, but my recent slump has been the worst! I started off the year great with 13 books read in Janurary and then it all went downhill. 3 in February and 2 in March. I've missed reading so much and I'm surprised I've managed to read anything. Meanwhile my review pile is growing to a monsterous height. But I decided to pick up The Maze Runner by James Dashner and it's sequel and loved it. I'm currently reading the last book in the trilogy (a new favourite trilogy) and it feels so good to be hooked on a book. You can read my review of book one here. Also incase you didn't know I'm in love with Dylan O'Brien and we got married. The trailer for The Maze Runner looks freaking fantabulous!!

In other news I gained yet another unhealthy obsession; Teen Wolf, got an extremely cute rabbit and might be doing work experience for a magazine. I also got a lovely invite to the Sydney premiere of 'Divergent' on the 7th of April and words can't express how excited I am. You can expect a movie review and event recap, fangirling included! Oh and for any Instagram users, I started a 2nd account purely for all things fandom and fangirl: @thefangirllifexo. Anyway I'm actually starting to get excited about my TBR pile and I'm really hoping to read 5-8 books in April. School holidays are coming up and I can't wait for Easter and to go camping. What's been happening in your life?

  4. I do not know how you and Francoise do it! I could not have been a book blogger in high school, you guys are superheroes! And yes, teachers give you all that homework at the same time on purpose ;)

Enjoy Divergent, I'm seeing it with book club the night after it releases :D

  5. Aww, I hope you get out of your reading slump soon. The trailer for The Maze Runner looks so amazing and I have the first book on my shelf but I'm too scared to read it because the hype surrounding it is so huge! I'm afraid I'll hate it or something -tears-

  7. I tell you Sunny, I used to say the same thing when I was your age. You would think teachers would have communicated in some form so you're not bombarded with so much work at once. It's ridiculous. But if anyone can get through it, you can.

I'm so excited for you and the Divergent premiere, that'll be awesome. You know we'll all be lurking here waiting for your review.

Congratulations on the wedding! He looks like a lovely young man :D

  8. I had reading slumps all throughout the end of last year and the beginning of this one. I hope things get better for you and I definitely understand about school. I'm in my final class before I get my BA degree. And CONGRATS on the wedding!
